Product Features

İZOLİKİT/ Plus liquid rubber, is an environmentally friendly, non-toxic, dual component waterproofing material comprising high quality rubber polymers, applied by spraying. It is a strong but highly flexible material that can be applied to the desired thickness effectively in a single coat. It provides fully adhesive, monolithic waterproofing without generating any waste. It is a water based “green” product and it does not contain volatile organic compounds

 

Areas of use and practicability of the product

İZOLİKİT/ Plus comprises instant setting rubber which can be used on new or renovated roofs, under-floor waterproofing, plaza decks, interior or exterior walls, walkways, wooden girders, dams, ponds, fountains, and many other waterproofing applications requiring specialization. İZOLİKİT/ Plus  provides a unique solution for complete building cladding applications and many other applications.

Moreover, İZOLİKİT/Plus can also be used to enhance adhesion of bitumen (pitch) based membranes to concrete or metal surfaces

Application

APPLICATION METHOD : 

1- İZOLİKİT/ Plus makes it possible to obtain the desired thickness in a single coat by hardening instantly, when applied in dual component form using an İZOMAK application pump manufactured by  MEKO A.Ş. specifically for this purpose. This method helps repair all holes, cracks, and other surface impurities instantly. The product should be pumped at a fluid flow rate of 26 GPM (98 liters/minute) and a product output flow rate of 2.5 GPM (9.4 liters/minute) at a maximum pressure of 300psi by using a dual diaphragm pump. Individual valve control knobs on all hoses and quick disconnect fittings allow for fully controlling the product during application.

2- İZOLİKİT/ Plus can also be applied in mono component form using roller brushes or floor squeegees. 

3- It now possible to apply İZOLİKİT/ Plus in its improved form, by using electric pumps (airless application machine). 

İzolikit Plus does not harden instantly when applied by using these tools or equipment.  The surface on which the product is applied starts to harden within 2-4 hours depending on the weather conditions, after which the curing process begins. 

PREPARATION 

All surfaces where the product is going to be applied should be cleaned with pressurized water, removing all kinds of loose materials, grease, oil, solvents, or other impurities. Damaged parts of the base material to which the coating is to be applied should be patched or covered by proper repair materials that will bond to the base material to enhance effective adhesion of İZOLİKİT/ Plus.

An area of 130 m2 should be covered per hour using an İZOMAK application machine in order to obtain a 1.5 mm. thick monolithic surface with İZOLİKİT/ Plus. Although the coating efficiency might vary depending on the profile and texture of the base material to which the coating is to be applied, usually an area of 1.6 m2 can be coated per gallon (3.78 liters) for most base materials. It is recommended to start spraying from the bottom of the roof or area to be coated and work your way up to avoid routing the spray gun over the clean parts of the base material which are not yet coated. İZOLİKİT/ Plus is resistant to UV rays and weather conditions and its main color is broken white. However, it can be manufactured in any color of choice

İZOLİKİT/ Plus is a lightweight material with a specific gravity of 1.83 kg/m2, which can be directly applied on top of remnants of previous applications on roofs or other surfaces, saving you the time, effort, and cost of removing the underlying coating.

The area to be coated with İZOLİKİT/Plus should first be primed as required for perfect adhesion, depending on the condition of the surface. Applying MEKAS/ Rubber primer first will promote adhesion and bonding on the surfaces coated with İZOLİKİT/ Plus.

CURING

Although this dual component product is capable of instant setting and hardening, it is recommended to leave the coated area to cure for 10-18 hours under warm and sunny weather (10◦C). It is recommended to apply İZOLİKİT/ Plus at a temperature of 10◦C or above. Do not allow newly applied material to set before its curing time is over. Since a sufficient setting time is required for İZOLİKİT/ Plus, which is a water based product, to cure completely, curing time might vary depending on the weather conditions and temperature.

Warnings and Hazards

We recommend wearing a mask covering the mouth and the nose when applying this product. Although only a faint smell of odor and fume is emitted during the spraying, it is recommended using a gas mask when applying the product in confined spaces with limited ventilation. Avoid direct contact of the product with the eyes. Please refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for product specific warnings and product information. The pump operator is recommended to wear ear protection. 

Storage

Always store the product at temperatures of 10◦C  or above when it is in liquid state. Protect the product against freezing during storage and transportation
